[He doesn't need to see her to know she's smiling, and he can't keep the smile from his own face as he pulls her close to him, then picks her up and spins her around. A warm laugh leaves him and as he sets her down again, he kisses her soundly, then exhales a soft, happy sigh.

It's a different kind of vulnerability - a softer one - and one he's more than willing to let her see.]
